Position Summary
This position has primary responsibility for logical and physical database design and physical database implementation. This position is responsible for leading database projects and working with other members of the team in a mentoring role.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
1. Design flexible database solutions to support current and anticipated business policies and procedures.
2. Design and development of data models and database architecture.
3. Design and implement stored procedures and function scripts.
4. Reverse engineering and debugging SQL Server procedures with knowledge of SQL Server Execution Plans and Database Optimization and Performance Tuning processes.
5. Work with application developers to adjust database structure and make recommendations on UI design.
6. Assist in training of other associates.
7. Work with Database Administration team to ensure solutions conform to company standards.
8. Provide mentoring to junior level database designers.
9. Participate in Sprint planning and daily Scrum meetings.
10. Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications Needed
Five years experience in developing Microsoft SQL Server database objects.
Two years with database architecture and schema design. Using modeling tools such as ER/Studio.
Experience in multi-tier architecture environment required.
Thorough understanding of SQL server and DB2 architectures.
Understanding of replication techniques.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Understanding of Microsoft .NET and/or J2EE development environments a plus.

Some travel to and from meetings may be required.
