The IT Systems Integration Engineer Team Lead contributes to all
functions relating to the integration and release of systems to be deployed to
Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS) data
centers. The IT Systems Integration Engineer Team Lead is primarily responsible
for the day to day work of getting products ready for release by assisting with
estimations, planning, development, and integration functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a
team of systems engineers in data center integration activities.
- Understands
the technology used to develop and deliver products to the end customer,
including, but not limited to, application frameworks, virtualization,
networking, storage, operating systems, database management systems,
monitoring, software packaging, deployment solutions, scripting and
automation
- Works
with product owners and MCEITS hosting to automate product delivery in
order to expedite the deployment process and minimize the impact on the
customer.
- Works to
develop ROM estimations LOEs for implementation planning of technical data
package delivery.
- Provides
support for troubleshooting activities related to customer issues as
needed and answering technical questions.
- Triages,
troubleshoots and repairs system failures related to common third-party
applications, server configurations, SAN technology, network devices and
virtualized data center resources
- Provides
feedback on how the established processes and technology can be improved
- Provides
feedback on performance of delivery solutions that may impact product
service level targets (SLT)
- Stays
current on evolving technology and standards used for product development
and delivery
- Consistently
considers what value is being delivered to the customer in all decisions
that affect daily work and management of projects
- Verifies
that quality measures in procedures are complete and effective, ensures
proper recording of results in logs and documentation.
- Identifies
server configuration and/or performance irregularities, provides input to
technology and process improvements
- Assists
with the cross-functional training and mentoring of product development,
software quality testing, infrastructure architecture and product hosting
teams in the effective use of Systems Integration technology and processes
- Actively
participates in scheduled off-hour operations, weekend work and on-call
rotation shifts as required by IT Service Management procedures and
guidelines.
Requirement:
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of
experience, certifications, licenses, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent, plus at least five years of system engineering, with experience deploying and managing software and systems in both physical and virtualized environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience are required. 5+ years’ experience (or appropriate education/certifications) in engineering, deployments, automation and project management with proven ability to see project through to completion. Certification in the use of one or more technologies used for product deployment and delivery (e.g., Microsoft Windows and SQL Server, Linux Administration, TCP/IP Networking, VMware, etc.) Security+ is required.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent, plus at least five years of system engineering, with experience deploying and managing software and systems in both physical and virtualized environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience are required. 5+ years’ experience (or appropriate education/certifications) in engineering, deployments, automation and project management with proven ability to see project through to completion. Certification in the use of one or more technologies used for product deployment and delivery (e.g., Microsoft Windows and SQL Server, Linux Administration, TCP/IP Networking, VMware, etc.) Security+ is required.
- A thorough understanding of GPOs and GPO inheritance.
- Advance knowledge and experience with PowerShell scripting in an
Enterprise environment.
- An in depth knowledge and experience with nested grouping in AD and
assigning permissions through GPOs.
- Experience with VMware virtualization and public cloud solutions
preferred
- Experience supporting product delivery tools is required.
Must
pass background investigation to achieve secret clearance.
