Job Description:
This is a hands-on technical position that will join a team
responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of VMware systems
within the infrastructure team for NAVSEA. This individual will fully support
the design, deployment and maintenance of VMware ESXi 5.5/6.0 environment.
Additional VMware components to be utilized will be VMware vRealize and vCloud
Suite. Primary job duties will consist of:
Administering, Installing, Configuring, Hardening VMware infrastructure
Troubleshooting and responding to customer incidents
Creating and generating reports for capacity planning and utilization
Basic Skills: clearances and other elements required, in order of importance, and number of years’ experience, where applicable, in each skill:
2+ years administering VMware vSphere/vCloud/ESXi. Certification is required.
2+ years supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012.
4+ years performing server hardware/OS/software installation and configuration.
1+ years performing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)/Hardening
Familiar with Linux RHEL 5.x – 6.x.
Preferred Skills:
2+ Years’ experience supporting HP & Dell hardware.
2+ Years’ experience working within a NetApp SAN/NAS storage infrastructure.
2+ years’ experience with Veeam backup products
2+ years’ experience using SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
