Provides administrative support for the Enterprise Users on Network Management Systems.   Maintains current hostname list on the NMS server. Assisting in Quarterly Password update for NOC managed networks devices.  Troubleshoots all NMS related outages on all NMS servers and network devices as assigned by Operations Manager/NMS Manager or Designee. Updates and resolves incident tickets that are assigned to NMS. Participates on required conference calls for all NMS matters that are assigned by the NMS Lead Engineer. Performs escalation as required for assigned NMS outages. Acts as escalation point for more junior technicians/engineers. Troubleshoots SNMP traps reported by Network Technicians. This position may be required to augment watch operations during manning shortages and surge activities supporting operations, project support and new business as required.

Experience:  5-7 years’ experience that includes operational support, hands-on implementing and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, IPS, VPN, desktop computers, and cabling in a large LAN/BAN/MAN/WAN environment.  Knowledge of trouble ticketing software (Remedy, HP Service Manager) and network monitoring solutions (Net View, HP NNMi, HP OM; TACACS Plus and HPNA Previous experience working on DoD bases/sites, including previous military service highly desirable. JOB SUMMARY

The Configuration Management Analyst is responsible for the IT Service Management (ITSM) process to identify and track Configuration Items (CIs) through their lifecycle. Responsible for planning, identification, control, status accounting, audit and verification activities to achieve control of the IT system functional and physical assets.  Responsible for quality data management of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) by ensuring that CIs are recorded from established baseline, and attributes and relationships properly maintained throughout the entire lifecycle of the CI record. Reviews released engineering change requests and data to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies.  Participate in the continual service improvement of the asset and configuration management processes and procedures based on ITIL V3 framework

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) and other meetings to ensure CI’s associated with change requests are compliant with all auditable information for life cycle status.
  • Work Service Request tickets (i.e. Change Requests (CRQs) and Incident tickets (INC)) timely and accurately daily, and associated tasks daily. Complete actions in support of change requests to create or update CIs, and ensure attribute data and relationships to other CIs are accurate. Review incident records requesting CMDB update, prepare respective change records to coordinate and implement the update activity
  • Assist with the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of the CMDB.  Analyze bulk “data” load services for creating large numbers of new records or updates in the CMDB. Participate in architectural development when new types of information need to be captured in the CMDB. Participate in and support discussions around integration of tools as well as normalization and reconciliation of data within the tools.
  • Perform physical and functional audits utilizing various methods of inspection.  Document results and perform corrective actions to resolve discrepancies following documented processes.
  • Develop and maintain reports to support Configuration Status Accounting Reporting. Provide inventory reports or other important KPI reports related to configuration items.
  • Participate and support documentation activities associated with the process, such as Plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Participate in and support testing activities around new tool implementations.
  • Increase customer loyalty by building solid relationships with the customers.
  • Perform other duties as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
