The Senior Systems Administrator serves
as a technical expert in Data Center operations and administers Linux, VMware
vSphere, and Windows 2003/2008R2/2012 server systems in a team environment.
The
Senior Systems Administrator works closely with teammates maintaining the
production resources and planning for growth and new services consistent with
production mission. Particular emphasis will be placed on systems integration
in a technologically diverse environment, encompassing a variety of open source
and vendor solutions. The successful candidate will specialize in one of the
above operating systems (Windows 2008/12 or VMware vSphere 5.0/5.5 is
preferred), but may be required to perform systems management/programming tasks
on all. In addition, this position will have an important role in
coordination/management of projects and operations in the group.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
· Works
closely with Production Manager, Engineering and all team members to provide a
joint vision of technical services and applications supporting integrations and
deployments into production environments.
· Provides
hands-on leadership in administering production Linux 5.9/6.0, VMware vSphere
5.0/5.5, and Windows 2008R2/2012 server systems in a team environment.
· Installs,
configures, supports, and administers business and automation applications
across multiple data centers; encompassing test, staging and production.
· Provides
project leadership for major server projects which include but are not limited
to the Microsoft Infrastructure, Virtualization of servers, Automation, and
infrastructure maintenance.
· Provide
support off-hours as needed with other team members.
Requirements:
· Minimum
Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses,
etc.):
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent, plus at least five years of system administration/programming, with experience deploying and managing software and systems in both physical and virtualized environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience are required.

· 5+
years experience (or appropriate education/certifications) in server
administration, including installation of server hardware and operating system
software, writing and maintaining administrative scripts in powershell, perl,
python or UNIX shell, and basic IP networking is required.

MCITP, MCSE, MCP, Security+

Must be able to pass background investigation in
order to achieve secret clearance.
Essential Functions:
· Working
knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, VMWare, and Planning
and automating enterprise backups for critical data using SAN, NAS, and
traditional storage devices.
· Working
knowledge of Cisco/Brocade networking including routers, switches, and
authentication.
· Experience
with scripting and automation of installations and routine tasks.
· Knowledge
and experience in web services, storage area network (iSCSI), directory
services and identity management and federation solutions and in performance
monitoring and tuning.
·
Familiar with specific protocols and technologies
such as LDAP, SSL, and SOA and the ability to take an active part in furthering
such technologies.
· Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
· Ability
to be a proven collaborator and self starter, and will take ownership for
proactively delivering exceptional service.
· Familiarity
the HP Automation tools suite: Server Automation, Network Automation,
Operations Orchestration.
· Experience
with HP Operations management(OMW), Virtual Connect, and HP Hardware.
Desired:
·
Experienced in Risk
Management and Security Compliance procedures in accordance with DoD
directives/safety standards.
·
Certifications in ITILv3 or VMWare
Remedy 7.5/8.0 Experience working tickets, creating
tickets, and general use of the tool to support operations
