Title: Software Configuration Specialist

Responsibilities:
·
Providing
ClearCase support to developers and overall management of toolset
·
Supporting
Project Managers on various releases
·
Timely
builds and release of software builds with proper release documentation (e.g.
VDD, Change Requests etc.) to both internal and external customers.
·
Create
and update Virtual Machine (VM) environments.
·
Automate
build processes and ensure that builds are completed without issues.
·
Plan
and upgrade collaboration tools to stay within vendor support guidelines.
·
Setting
up workstations (e.g. OPK) for testers and developers including setting up
these workstations on the network.
·
Provide
input to capital planning process for required hardware and software; create
RCEs for approved capital, order, and deploy it, within project schedules.
Qualifications
·
B.S. in
IT/MIS/Computer Science or similar discipline. On the job experience in
IT/MIS of > 10 years without a Bachelor’s Degree.
·
6-8
years of configuration management and/or software development experience in a
regulated software engineering environment.
·
Requires
experience in managing ClearCase or equivalent Configuration Management Systems
spread across geographical locations for product development.
·
Experience
in continuous build environments, generating installation packages (e.g.
Install shield or MSI), and simplifying the build process is required.
·
Experience
in change approval and versioning (or base lining) controlled documents and
source code.
·
Requires
experience with Microsoft Windows, Unix (Solaris, AIX) and Linux applications,
hot fix deployments and security software.
·
Experience
with scripting languages (e.g. PERL, VBScript or Shell scripts etc.) and
ability to automate repetitive tasks.
·
Experience
supporting software tools, tool evaluation and assessments. Experience
with Requirements Management Tools (e.g. DOORS), as well as a wide breadth of
experience with commercially available configuration management software,
defect tracking systems and requirement management tools is required.
·
Excellent
organization skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a
willingness to support the team are a must.
·
Must be
detail-oriented and a team player committed to the success of the team.
·
Must
follow standards and quality processes for software installations and update
the appropriate practice documents.
·
Utilize
process improvements techniques to improve existing processes.
